Saying is one thing and doing another

It is easier to talk about doing a thing than it is to do it. It is easier to give advice than to put it into practice.

‘That tree’s too close to the house. If you want more light in the rooms, why not cut it down?’

‘Saying is one thing and doing another. There’s only one way for it to fall and I can’t get the ace to it from the other side because of the wall.’
